Plane crashes west of Int’l Airport, four passengers believed dead
As I speak hope appears to be fading in the search for any survivors in a plane crash that was first reported to our newsroom only twenty five minutes ago. Air traffic controllers at Philip Goldson International have just told News Five that a foreign registered twin engine Beechcraft fifty-eight with four people aboard took off from the airport heading for San Pedro. The pilot then reported that at least one engine had failed and began to circle to come back to the International. He didn’t make it. The plane crashed in a swamp some two miles west of the runway and British Forces rescue personnel report from their helicopter that only flames are visible, no human activity or even wreckage. The coming of night will no doubt hamper any recovery operations, but a News Five crew is en route to the scene and we’ll try to keep you posted.
