Belize City Fire Station Coming Says Minister Habet

The U.S Embassy has also committed to assist the Government of Belize with the construction of a Belize City Fire Station. Currently, fire personnel in Belize City are being housed at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex. So, what has been the hold up? Minister Habet explained.

“They are also assisting us with the one in Dangriga. We have one scheduled hopefully soon for San Ignacio. We have also put in a request for Belize City. So we are waiting for those approvals and then the work can commence. What has been detaining that is to get the land documents, because we cannot proceed to do any kind of construction until we can show them that we have the documents in place. So, Minister Hyde has assured us that those are already in process. So, hopefully as soon as we get those land documents we will contact the U.S Embassy so that we can get the funding for those.”
