Girl wounded in shooting attempt on dad

A thirteen-year-old Belize City girl was wounded on Saturday by a bullet that was meant for someone else. According to police, the girl, who they declined to identify, was sitting on her fence on Central American Boulevard, when her father, twenty-seven year old Windell Neal came running into the yard. Following close behind was twenty-five year old Mark Henry who opened fire on Neal with a handgun. The bullets missed their intended target but one of the shots caught the youngster in her knee. She was treated and released from Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Henry meanwhile, has been charged with the crimes of wounding, use of deadly means of harm and two counts of attempted murder. Police say Henry was chasing after Neal because of a previous misunderstanding between the two.
