Prodigal Son performs at concert for Y.C. Belize
There is no shortage of activities this Valentines weekend. And international artists have been flocking to the jewel for featured performances; one of them is gospel singer and rapper, Calvin ‘Prodigal Son’ Whilby. The artist, who arrived at the Phillip Goldson International Airport yesterday, is scheduled to perform at a concert for Y.C. Belize, a youth conference that is to be held at the U.B. gymnasium in Belmopan. The two-day event starts tonight. News Five spoke with Whilby who told us of his inspiration in gospel music.

“What can they expect?”
Calvin ‘Prodigal Son’ Whilby, Gospel Rapper
“As I said before, a hundred and fifty percent energy, expect a move from God, expect healing deliverance, expect to see people get saved. You will come in that building and you will never leave the same—you will change for the better.”
Duane Moody
“What is it that motivates you as an artist to sing, to do what you do?”
Calvin ‘Prodigal Son’ Whilby
“The love of God. When I look at what God took me from. I’m coming from at three months old my mother gave me away. I live on the street, I’ve been there, done that in gangs and God safe me life, transform me. And if he’s done that for me, it’s only fair for me to tell people about the love of Jesus Christ—there is nothing better no one better I’ve tried everything it doesn’t work. The rape the murder the violence, all the crime that is happening. I believe more than I ever believed in my lifetime that there is going to be a revolution, that God is going to turn things around, that there’s gonna be a shaking and a waking and people will come to learn Jesus Chris like never before.”
Y.C. Belize is an international-based Christian mission that works to bring young people spiritually together and this youth conference is the third of its kind.
