Motorcyclist Perishes in R.T.A. on Southern Highway

There was also a fatal road traffic accident in southern Belize over the weekend. It involved a police constable who collided into a pedestrian while he was crossing the Southern Highway near Bella Vista Village. Here’s more on the tragic incident from ACP Hilberto Romero.

“At 6:40 p.m., on Saturday, January 28th, 2023, police responded to a fatal RTA at Bella Vista Village, Toledo District. Upon their arrival, they found Elojio Teul, twenty-four-years-old Belizean constable with injuries on a motorcycle. Information gathered was that he was driving his motorcycle on the highway when a male person crossed the road and he struck the male person, causing him to fall from the motorcycle. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. An investigation is being carried out at this time.”

“No. There is one person who was crossing the highway. He received injuries and is presently admitted at the K.H.M.H.”
