Manslaughter Proceedings Going to the Beach Where Deadly Shooting Occurred
At the end of today’s proceedings, Justice Moore informed the defense and attorneys for the crown that she would like to take Wednesday’s session to the location where the incident occurred in Placencia. It is referred to as a “locus.” You would recall that a similar exercise was conducted in the murder trial of Danny Mason et al at the farm where Pastor Llewellyn Lucas was killed. In this manslaughter trial, the court will basically convene at the seafront near the Beach Club in Placencia to get an on-site perspective of the scene, as described in the various testimonies.
Dickie Bradley, Attorney-at-law
“The judge was suggesting we should all go to the locus give the two sides if in full agreement if it would help to point out. There is nothing, they say seeing is believing and there is nothing like… I tha old school and I believe ina go tha locus, if I could again steal your word from you, but that is a possibility in this case it would help because photographs are one dimensional, this is the corner, this is the alley, and this is the resort and you would get a full picture of what was happening.”
