One Man Charged for Weekend Stabbing of Indian Businessman

Twenty-two-year-old Robert Lamb was arraigned and remanded to the Belize Central Prison earlier today after being charged with attempted murder, use of deadly means of harm, dangerous harm and robbery.  The slew of charges follow an incident over the weekend during which an Indian businessman was attacked and stabbed multiple times on Cemetery Road.  On Saturday morning, Deepak Katariya went to take orders at a store near the corners of Cemetery Road and Euphrates Avenue when he was attacked by two men.  One of them reportedly grabbed him by the neck, while his accomplice proceeded to stab him, before grabbing a black bag containing several items and fleeing the scene.  Lamb, a well-known street figure, was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.  A second suspect remains at large.
