Elmer Nah Enters No Case Submission During Ammunition Trial
Senior Magistrate Baja Shoman will hand down a decision on a no case submission that was made by accused murderer Elmer Nah earlier today, in respect of ammunition charges brought against him, following an incident on the Southern Highway in November 2021. Nah, who was charged jointly along with his common-law wife Epiphania Caliz and his brother-in-law Police Constable Manuel Caliz, was unrepresented throughout the proceedings which began in the lower courts in Belize City on Wednesday. The no case submission was entered this morning as the trial drew to an end. But how does Nah benefit from such a move considering the fact that he remains without a legal counsel? That’s the direction that the matter has taken, notwithstanding a decision to be rendered on February tenth. As we’ve reported, Epiphania Caliz is being represented by attorney Richard ‘Dickie’ Bradley, while PC Manuel Caliz, who remains on interdiction, is being represented by attorney Leeroy Banner.
