Saldivar and the Caucus For Change
As for the Caucus for Change, well, Saldivar gives full credit to that team for helping him win this convention. Saldivar says the caucus will remain, and in his opinion, it is the start of the U.D.P. uniting.
John Saldivar, U.D.P. Belmopan Standard Bearer
“We are already having a planning meeting. Our group – the caucus for change – we are already having a planning meeting over this weekend to help our colleagues who are facing challenges and we are going to move just the way we did in Belmopan. I don’t know if you know this but my colleagues have been in Belmopan every weekend for the past five weeks stomping the grounds for me. It paid off and we are going to be doing the same thing.”
April Martinez
“Your political party’s move a caucus for change is that the right move for the U.D.P. which is struggling to portray unity?”
John Saldivar
“Well it’s the beginning of unity. Keeping this caucus together is the beginning of unity for our party. If you can have 15/16 leaders from our constituencies on one page which is what we have in the caucus it is not about disunity it is about the others joining in. If we have 17 of us then the other fourteen need to join in and that will be one U.D.P.”
