… And his lover is the prime suspect
There are more details on this morning’s brutal murder in Orange Walk Town. Neighbours are accusing the police of not responding promptly but cops have swiftly detained a number of suspects. The prime suspect, Nimrod Tillett, who police believe actually slashed Castillo’s throat, remains at large tonight and police have released his picture with the hope that you might be able to help them track him down.
Sergeant Jeffrey Williams, Investigating Officer, OW Police
“It shows that there was some sign of robbery because some items were stolen from the house. Maybe after the party, this person might have wanted to steal something and that might have led to what happened.”
Marion Ali
“some items, I take it it’s his personal cash and jewelry.”
Sgt. Jeffrey Williams
“Jewelry and cash.”
Marion Ali
“Okay, the person you say you’re looking for, do you have any idea where he might be hiding out if he’s still in Orange Walk or absconded to Belize City or beyond?”
Sgt. Jeffrey Williams
“We have about three addresses in Orange Walk Town where we have checked so far but at this point in time, fruitless. We believe that he’s in hiding right now.”
Manuela Ayuso, Love FM
“Can you say who that person is?”
Sgt. Jeffrey Williams
“We are seeking one Nimrod Tillett for questioning.”
Marion Ali
“Where does he live in reference to the deceased?”
Sgt. Jeffrey Williams
“He’s just across the street on Belize Road. There was a series of struggling in the area as the blood might have determined that and we believe that the person who committed this crime was bare feet at the time. In the abdomen area they had bruises and also on scene we had a wooden baseball bat that was broken.”
Tillett is no stranger to the law as he has been arrested and charged a number of times before for robbery and theft. Meanwhile, Sergeant Williams says he is also investigating reports that on duty officers did not respond promptly when neighbours summoned them to the scene.
