Shyne Barrow Weighs In on Caucus for Change
Barrow also responded to questions on the Saldivar-lead Caucus for Change. The group, primarily consisting of former U.D.P. Area Representatives, supported Barrow’s candidacy for party leader in February 2022. But, since Barrow has publicly spoken against Saldivar, what does he think about Caucus for Change, and is he concerned that they are coming after his coveted party leadership seat? We asked him.
Paul Lopez
“Is the Caucus for Change operating and acting in the interest of the Party? They seemed to have been a phantom group some years ago. But, Sunday’s results shows that to some extent they are a force to be recognized with inside the UDP and one may assume and even suggest that they wield the most influence within the UDP? Are you concerned that they supported you in your bid for the opposition leadership and you went against their leader that there is this Caucus for Change wave coming against you?”
Moses “Shyne’ Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
“Not I am not.”
Paul Lopez
“What is your stance on their position and operation in the party?”
Moses “Shyne’ Barrow
“I am friends with many of the members of Caucus of Change and regardless of the differences of opinion in Belmopan, we remain friends and we have a priority above all else which is to lead the UDP to victory in the municipal and general elections.”
