Suspects detained in Corozal cocaine bust
It was significantly less than the dramatic bust at the Port late last month; nonetheless, the cops have chalked up another victory in the war on narcotics. Four people were detained on Tuesday as a result of an anti-drug operation in the Corozal District. Police say they intercepted a blue pickup truck on the outskirts of Sarteneja Village in which they found two parcels of cocaine, weighing just over five pounds. The driver of the vehicle, forty-two year old Adolfo Zetina, and his companion, thirty-eight year old Ernesto Acosta both of Orange Walk Town have been detained pending further investigation. Police say a further search of the area led to the detention of two men who had unusually large sums of money in their possession. Twenty eight-year-old fisherman Aldo Trejo had ten thousand dollars on him, while thirty-two year old Alvaro Trejo, also a fisherman, had eight hundred and ten dollars in his pockets. Both men are from Sarteneja Village in the Corozal District.
