Three S.I.F. projects inaugurated in south

Hundreds of primary school children, teachers and residents of the Stann Creek and Toledo Districts are the latest beneficiaries of infrastructural assistance from the Social Investment Fund. Three new projects funded by SIF were handed over on Monday. They include the rehabilitation of the Holy Angels Primary School and principal’s office in Pomona Village, Stann Creek District, the building of a teacher’s house in Santa Teresa, Toledo, and the construction of ventilated pit latrines in Blue Creek, also in Toledo. In all over one hundred eighty thousand dollars were spent on the three projects, including community contributions amounting to over thirty thousand dollars. The Social Investment Fund, which is backed by the World Bank, is presently funding six more projects in rural communities, mainly in the north and west.
