New Guatemalan ambassador presents credentials
In diplomatic news the new Guatemalan ambassador to Belize this morning presented his credentials to Governor General Sir Colville Young. He is Rafael Salazar. Salazar replaces Antonio Castellanos who has been reassigned as his nation’s top envoy to Israel. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Manuel Esquivel is heading a three-member delegation to a meeting of the Caribbean Group for Cooperation in Economic Development being held at World Bank headquarters in Washington D.C. At the same time Deputy Prime Minister Dean Barrow is at the UN in New York where he will address a Special General Assembly called to discuss the global drug problem.
