Man Chopped to Death in Toledo

There was another murder in Toledo over the weekend. The Belize Police Department’s Communications Director, Fitzroy Yearwood shared the details with the media today.

“On Saturday the eleventh February, 2023 around five a.m., police visited a scene where they saw the motionless body with several stab wounds. Sebastian Coc, the village Alcalde of San Isidro Village visited a Picado road about two hundred metres off the highway where he saw this body and contacted the authorities. This person has since been identified as Pablo Coc, thirty years, of the same village. Investigations revealed that about four-forty-five a.m., the deceased and his brother left home en route to catch a passenger bus. They were on their way to work – a construction site located in Santa Cruz Village but unfortunately they were approached by a person that the police believe Mr. Coc had another incident with in December of last year and we know we have two persons detained right now in connection with this incident. As soon as we have enough evidence to level any charges then we will inform.”
