Police Investigation into Death of Man Continues; Neighbours Say He Was Their Runman

On Monday, we reported that police were investigating the death of a man found dead inside his home in Belize City. The deceased, Richard Thurton, was found inside the house at the corner of Penn Road and Fairweather Street dead. A post-mortem examination revealed that he died from blunt force trauma, and police indicated that they observed several bruises on his body. Today residents of the area told News Five that they were shocked when they heard that Thurton was discovered dead inside his house. He was a dependable errand man in the area, they told us. One resident told us that Thurton used to entertain friends from the same neighborhood late into the night but that they heard nothing strange coming from his house around the time just before he was found dead about two weeks ago.
