Ambassador Kwan takes a Cultural Tour

U.S. Ambassador to Belize Michelle Kwan is almost three months into her diplomatic posting in Belize. And while she has hit the ground running with attending official events that the U.S. government supports, she took a break over the weekend to join the host of Open Your Eyes, April Martinez, on a cultural tour of San Antonio Village. The Ambassador met with the community, visited the Elijio Panti Reserve, drank organically grown Oxmul (osh-mul) coffee, and met the San Antonio women’s group working to preserve the Maya culture. The Ambassador shares her thoughts on her newly appointed role, and the special relationship between Belize and the U.S. Here’s a look at Ambassador Kwan taking in Belizean culture.
