Will Anyone Be Charged for Simon Lamb Street Fire

In an update to Monday’s fire on Simon Lamb Street, the media asked the Communications Director of the Belize Police Department, Assistant Superintendent Fitzroy Yearwood if any charges will be levelled in this case. Reports are that a tenant accidentally caused the blaze. So what happens in this case? While police investigators are awaiting the report from the National Fire Service, ASP Yearwood shared his take on the matter.

“As recent as last week, I believe, we had a similar incident where a man lit some bush fire in the Tropical Park area in Hattieville and we have seen that the was charged for arson. Of course if the fire investigation deems that that person is at fault for causing this fire, we are expecting charges to be levied against that person also.”
