Police Mobility to Improve in Other Communities, Villages
…and the Commissioner of Police says that he is hoping that other communities will also get support to improve the department’s mobile unit and by extension, its ability to respond to distress calls. He explains that areas like Crooked Tree and Maskall could also make use of motorcycles.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“When we have these contributions coming from them, it goes a long way and we certainly have communities that we are looking at. We have Crooked Tree and Maskall, two areas in the Belize Rural North constituency that we also would like to get some mobility. So if there is anyone out there that can contribute to getting the police mobile in these areas, we will be more than happy to do so. There are other communities across the country other than here in Belize Rural North that we’d like to see things like this being done. We are looking at, for example, the Bella Vista area in the south; we have Santa Cruz in the south as well. In the north, we have San Narciso Village; we’d like to get some motorcycles for there. Sarteneja Village – again, these are areas where we are trying to see how we can get resources to assist the officers’ response to the needs of the public. So if there are anyone within those areas who believe that they can contribute to us in those areas that we are more than happy to welcome their assistance.”
