P.G. man killed in freak accident
A freak accident in Toledo has left a Punta Gorda man dead. Thirty seven year old Simeon Coleman was driving down the Southern Highway from Big Falls to the district capital when upon reaching near mile nineteen, his pickup began to shut down as it labored up a hill. As it sputtered to a stop and began to roll backwards three passengers riding in the pan jumped out, while Coleman himself did the same. His luck was no better than that of his vehicle, however, and according to police, Coleman stumbled and fell. At the same time the out of control truck swung in a sharp turn and rolled over its driver. Simeon Coleman was crushed and died before reaching P.G. Hospital. The three passengers who jumped out of the pan were not injured, nor was Coleman’s wife Candelaria, who remained in the cab.
