Charges against Roger Wagner upgraded to Murder
Roger Wagner had been on bail for the attempted murder of Griffith Green Junior, but tonight he is behind bars because Green has died. Wagner’s charge was upgraded to Murder today in Magistrates’ Court and he has been remanded into custody until April thirtieth. Green, a truck driver, was shot in his back on December twenty-eighth, 2008. Green and another man, Wayne Rocke, were riding bicycles on Raccoon Street Extension heading towards Central American Boulevard when they encountered his assailant. Green and Rocke turned around and began riding in the opposite direction. Rocke escaped unharmed but Green was shot once in his back. He fell from his bicycle and he was taken to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. He had received two operations in order to repair his lungs and to remove bullet fragments. Surgery could not help Green, whose spinal cord was damaged and he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, January thirty-first. Green is survived by four children.
