Still No Arrests for Roaring Creek Murder of Dane Matute Jr.

Dane Matute Jr.

Last Wednesday, there was a shooting incident in Roaring Creek Village that claimed the life of fifteen-year-old Dane Matute Junior. The high school student was among a group of teenagers who went swimming at a popular location near Guanacaste Park when two gunmen opened fire in their direction. While Matute Junior was mortally wounded, his friend Kaylen Wade received gunshot injuries, but survived.  Several searches were conducted in the wake of the incident, but no arrested have been made for the crime. Today, ASP Fitzroy Yearwood gave the media an update and says that the Leadership Intervention Unit is to visit with two rival groups in Roaring Creek this week.

“We have suspects that we are looking for. I just recently got information that OC Roaring Creek as well as Doctor Rosado will be meeting – along with members of the L.I.U. – will be meeting with two rivalling groups in Roaring Creek and I think that is as early as Wednesday of this week. After that meeting, I will be able to update you further.”

“Is that to indicate that Dane Matute’s murder was indeed gang-related?”

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood

“Well I said two rivalling groups; for me to categorize it as a gang, I cannot do that as yes. We will know what will be the results after the L.I.U. mediation and then I could probably answer your question. We did multiple house searches after the murder occurred and unfortunately for one person, when we searched his premises, a thirty-eight revolver was discovered. That gun has been labelled as an exhibit and it has been sent to the lab for further testing. As far as that goes, I will be able to answer that after we get our ballistics report.”

“So no motive at this time?”

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood

“None as yet.”
