Visiting musicians give concert at St. John’s

Story Picture
While students at St. Mary’s were displaying the many cultures of Belize, some visitors from across the Gulf of Mexico are in town with some culture of their own.

Anthony Williams, Assistant Professor of Music, Dillard University

“One of the things our president wants us to do is to have cultural exchanges and to have a cultural diverse program that deal with student body culturally diverse. And we are really the first group to really go out on trips such as this to another country and perform and visit people, meet people. So it’s been really rewarding.”

Rachel Jordan, Violinist

“I think most musicians would say, it is the sound of music and I come from a musical family, so my parents – both my mother and father – are musicians and I was constantly surrounded by music. So I listen to classical and my dad is a jazz musician and I just love the violin so that was my choice.”

That means if you’re watching the live version of this newscast you’ve got just enough time to splash on some cologne and head over to St. John’s to see and hear these musicians in the flesh.
