A Platform for Women Painters, Photographers & Creatives
The work of over thirty-five female creatives will be showcased at the Belisle Art Gallery inside the Bliss, including high school students. Among those featured is painter Yaoling Lee. She is also one of the guest speakers at Thursday’s official ceremony for the launch of Women in Art 2023.
Yaoling Lee, Painter
“I submit five paintings. They are oil on canvass. I usually work from life, meaning I go out. Those are sunsets so I go out by the seaside, I sit by the seaside and I wait for the moment or I start painting and the sun sets and I paint how I feel and what I see. So those I created are inspired by the sunset by the seaside in Belize City. I will be sharing my experiencing, adding mostly journey cause I stop painting for more than ten years because I got married and got three kids. And I think it is something I would like to share with women especially. I think it is a matter of choice. What do you want? I ask myself what do I want. Once you make decision, you just have to go for it. Doesn’t matter, we just have to go through it; good and bad. But I am so happy, I have three beautiful children and now it’s my time – I got more time now – and I’m so happy I am able to do what I love to do and just grateful.”
