An American National is Remanded for Living in Belize Illegally
Thirty-two-year-old Gregory Aaron Brown, an American national of Connecticut, says he arrived in Belize seeking asylum. He was, however, busted for living in Belize illegally and was today brought before Acting Chief Magistrate Tricia Pitts-Anderson on an immigration offense. He was handed a non-custodial sentence but was unable to pay a fine of one thousand dollars and is now serving a six-month sentence. A removal order has been granted and Brown must be deported back to the United States within two weeks of paying his fine or completing his sentence.
