Airport City Hub, “A Concept for Future Economic Benefits”

As for the Ministry of Civil Aviation, on Wednesday Minister Andre Perez doubled down on his vision to see the establishment of an aviation hub city in Belize. Furthermore, according to Minister Perez, the 2023 budget will see the recruitment and training of ten new air traffic controllers.

“We have introduced the concept and right now just talk, it is a concept, but eventually, twenty, twenty-five years from now history will look back at us and see how it was started as a concept and the concept of the airport city hub, an innovative project that holds huge economic potential for our country and people. We have started to invite and revue proposals from parties that are interested in this important and lucrative initiative. We have already received proposals for a pilot training institution, an aircraft maintenance facility as well as regional cargo operations. All these innovations seek to take advantage of a strategic geographical location to greater economic heights. What this equates to is greater confidence in Belize’s aviation systems, which results in greater travels to Belize and more jobs and more dollars in the pockets of our Belizean people.”
