Two robbers sentenced to seven years
Two Belize City men charged with the crime of robbery have been rewarded with a stiff prison sentence faster than they could say “show me the money”. Twenty year old Charles Brown and twenty eight year old Michael Arnold were sentenced to seven years in prison when they appeared before the Quick Trial Court on Friday. According to police Arnold and Brown carried out a total of three robberies in Belize City between the eighteenth and twenty second of this month. And their choice of victims was not fortuitous. An off duty policeman, whose identity has not been released, was among those hit by the duo. In case you’re wondering, the Head of C.I.B., Assistant Inspector Simeon Alvarez, explained that in cases where more than one crime was reported and the suspects are the same, they can be taken before the Quick Trial court instead of the regular Magistrate’s Court.
