Man Found Stabbed to Death; Police Lay Murder Charge Against Another

A man was found stabbed to death in Santa Elena, Cayo early Friday morning.  The lifeless body of fifty-one-year-old Julian Villanueva was discovered in the Red Creek area of Santa Elena with a cut wound on his chest. Swift police action has led to the arrest of another individual for the crime of murder. Police have no motive thus far; neither can they ascertain whether the men knew each other prior to the incident.

“On Friday, twenty-fourth March, sometime around two-fifty a.m., San Police responded to information of a male person seat motionless on the side of the judge Price highway. When police arrived there, they observed what they believe was a stab wound to the center of the chest area. That person was rushed to the San Ignacio Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Julian Villanueva, fifty-one year-old was the victim identified in this murder. The investigators gathered certain information and at the end of the investigation, they had enough information to arrest and charge Mark Louis Castellanos, twenty-seven years of Santa Elena for the murder committed against Mr. Villanueva.”
