Hillmar Alamilla is Acquitted of Murder on No Case Submission
Hillmar Alamilla is tonight a free man after a no case submission was upheld by Justice Herbert Lord earlier today. Alamilla, who drove for former Orange Walk North Area Representative Gaspar Vega, was accused of the murder of twenty-four-year-old Daniel Sosa in Orange Walk Town in July 2017. Sosa had been shot once in the head while seated in the passenger seat of Alamilla’s vehicle which was parked inside a popular nightclub. Sosa’s body was subsequently dumped in the parking lot of D’Victoria Hotel. Last week, Alamilla’s attorneys, Leeroy Banner and Richard ‘Dickie’ Bradley entered a no case submission on their client’s behalf. The trial began in February before Justice Herbert Lord in the Orange Walk Supreme Court. It lasted for six weeks before Alamilla’s defense team made its no case submission.
