Police Refer to Fatal Shooting as an Ongoing “Death Investigation”
Police have released information on Thursday’s fatal shooting incident near Sand Hill Village on the Philip Goldson Highway that claimed the life of thirty-three-year-old Justin Pollard. The Belize City resident was discovered dead sometime around seven-thirty Thursday morning inside his Toyota 4-Runner S.U.V that was parked a few yards off the highway between miles thirteen and fourteen. Police say they found Pollard sitting in the driver’s seat with a handgun clutched in his right hand. Police have not officially said where the bullet wound was inflicted, but based on unofficial sources it was located on the right side of Pollard’s head. We also observed upon our arrival at the scene that the glass window behind Pollard’s seat was broken. Upon the conclusion of their investigation police will determine whether the incident involved foul play or whether it was a suicide. Pollard’s brother told News Five on Thursday that the deceased loved his children and his family.
