Who Killed “Chingu” on Holy Thursday?
Thirty-eight-year-old Francis Augustine, a resident of Hopkins Village, was butchered in the wee small hours of April sixth. When residents of that coastal community woke up on the morning of Holy Thursday, it was to the news that “Chingu” had been stabbed multiple times and left for dead in front of his home. It is believed that he was attacked by someone he knew. Earlier today, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams provided a brief update on the investigation, despite the police department being unable to make an arrest.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
“The police had detained two suspects in respect of that matter and we have not been able to get any good leads or good evidence. We do have good leads, but good evidence, we have collected a number of evidential materials that we will be sending for DNA testing. We are almost sure that one of the two suspects we had detained is responsible for that particular murder, but we’ll have to await the results of the DNA testing that we are going to send to ascertain certain things and then when that comes back, we should be able to levy charges against somebody.”
