Hondurans arrested for burglaries
The old saying “crime doesn’t pay” has certainly proven true, at least in the case of Hondurans living in the town of San Pedro. Viewers may recall the recent bungled kidnapping of a bank manager in that island paradise by three Honduran immigrants. Today police report that another trio consisting of two Honduran men and a woman has been arrested for a string of burglaries on the caye. Twenty three year old Rene Santos Lemus, twenty two year old Ronald De Jesus Turcios and twenty six year old Jackline Jeoneth Melendez have been charged with burglary and handling stolen goods in connection with the February theft of nearly thirty five hundred dollars worth of jewelry from the home of Concepcion Badillo, a businesswoman of the San Pablo area. Police also recovered items stolen in three previous burglaries for which the same three have also been charged.
