Home Affairs Minister Explains Haitian and Jamaican Travels to Belize
Minister of Home Affairs Kareem Musa has been assigned to a cabinet subcommittee chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration to address the rampant smuggling of Haitians and Jamaicans through Belize to North America. Under the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas, Article 226, the Minister of Immigration has imposed a visa requirement for Haitians wishing to visit Belize and for Jamaican nationals to provide evidence of non-refundable hotel reservations ahead of boarding flights to Belize.
