Where is C.E.O. Leal and Which Ministry is He Going to?

Where is Chief Executive Officer Marconi Leal Junior? The last time we heard about the embattled C.E.O., he was on personal leave after a falling-out with Minister Rodwell Ferguson at the Ministry of Transport, Youth and Sports. There was also information to suggest that Leal would be transferred to another ministry. Today, while with Prime Minister John Briceño, he confirmed that Leal Junior will remain as a C.E.O. in his administration, but would not confirm who will be his replacement under Minister Ferguson.  Here’s how he responded to the question.

“I don’t think there is a real issue between both gentlemen. But the concerting issue is that C.E.O. Leal remains as a C.E.O. and he will continue to be a C.E.O. in our government. The Ministry of Transport Youth and Sports again, the minister is working on a new transport policy, which requires a lot of dedication and delicate negotiations with the bus owners. As so the work will continue and I will tell you that C.E.O. Leal will remain as a C.E.O. for the Government of Belize.”

“So is he going to move over to another C.E.O. and then you bring in another C.E.O. for…”

“Well that has not been finalized. That may happen but we don’t know as yet. C.E.O. Leal has been on holiday and he has not had a holiday literally from when he was appointed as C.E.O. It is something that I would have to discuss with him and the minister. And certainly we have a lot of work and so we do know that he will remain as a part of the team.”
