Police Street Resident Remanded for Firearm Possession
Twenty-year-old Kamaron Williams is on remand at the Belize Central Prison on charges of kept unlicensed firearm and kept unlicensed ammunition. On April sixth, the Police Street resident was found in possession of a nine millimeter pistol loaded with nine rounds of Aguila brand ammunition. He appeared unrepresented before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford where he was read two gun-related offenses. Williams was asked if he understood the charges, before subsequently pleading not guilty. Due to the nature of the offense, bail was denied and Williams was place on pretrial detention until June nineteenth, 2023.
