Ronlee Petillo and Alyon Domingo Shot Over the Weekend
Two Belize City men who are part of the Leadership Intervention Unit were shot while socializing over the weekend on Amara Street. Ronlee Petillo and Alyon Domingo were at a yard on Amara Avenue on Saturday evening when shots rang out and the two sustained gunshot wounds. According to the Belize Police Department’s Regional Commander of Eastern Division, Assistant Commissioner Hilberto Romero, the warfare has to do with an internal feud among individuals of the area.

“On Saturday police responded to shots fired at Amara Avenue. Upon the arrival information received, that two persons had been shot and taken to the K.H.M.H. The K.H.M.H was visited where police found Ronlee Petillo and Alyon Domingo with gunshot injuries. They were treated and they were released the following. Information gathered so far is that they were in that area in a yard when someone came to that area and fired shots towards the direction causing their injuries. We are conducting investigation to this matter. The information we have gathered so far, is that it is an internal feud in that area, and we have detained several persons for interviews. We have several things that we have put into place in regards to this incident to prevent any sort of re retaliation or escalation of the violence. So whatever needs to be placed there has been done and we continue with it.”
