Ras Indio Represents Belize at Dallas Reggae Festival
Reggae Dancehall Artist Ras Indio, with the support of the Belize Tourism Board and few of his other partners, represented Belize in the U.S at the Dallas Reggae Festival. Ras Indio is internationally known and he has produced quite a few popular songs in the last decade as an artist. We caught up with him this morning to hear about his experience in Dallas at the festival. Here is what he told us.
Ras Indio, Artist
“The Dallas Reggae Festival, it was a huge line up from Reggae music all over the world. We had Inner Circle who I got to meet again. They said they remember playing in Belize in the 1970s at Birds Isle. It was a blessing to be around such great musicians and singers. Jessie Royal, he had an amazing show, Israel Vibration and I got to interact and meet all these people and let them know where we are from. And, that is how a few of them were familiar with Belize. There is nothing else in the world more than any other artist who put their life into it, because that is what I have done, I have put my entire life into music. So, the whole COVID spell period was a little hard for us to deal with. It was a spell of nothing happening. So, to get invited to such a festival right now after the whole things blowing over, it lets me know and gives me a lot of encouragement to keep doing what I am doing. I will never lose this passion for wanting to represent us and wanting to travel.”
