Today, several non-government organizations received grant funding to carry out humanitarian or rehabilitative work that they do in their respective communities. The funding came through UNICEF’s Spotlight program and was administered by the Belize Association of Planners. “So they have been participating in a series of activities as part of the Spotlight Initiative. They’ve been doing training sessions in community mapping women’s rights, advocacy NGO management. It’s been a year and a half of trainings culminating in them now writing their project proposals, and they will now be implementing their projects in their communities.”
