Five charged in murder of Alden Quilter
In other crime news, police have charged five people, including three minors in connection with the shooting death of twenty one year old Alden Quilter. Initially police reported that last Thursday morning, the youths were in a house on Iguana Street extension, playing with a firearm when it accidentally went off hitting Quilter in his chest. But the charges brought against eighteen year old Ronald Cox and twenty three year old Hubert Velasquez seem to suggest that the shooting was no mistake.
AIP Simeon Alvarez, Head of C.I.B.
“At the time of the incident and having interviewed the minor and the other occupants that were in the house at the time, one of them is accepting that, yes, his trigger went off, his finger touched the trigger accidentally and the gun went off, and that is what they are saying. But at this time we cannot really say whether it is accident or intentionally so we charged for murder.”
In addition to the murder charge, all five youths have been charged with conspiracy to murder. They are on remand at Hattieville Prison until their next court appearance on April fifteenth.
