Jenari Jewelry Becoming Popular Choice among Belizeans
Shandy Casey represented Jenari Jewelry, a company owned by her sister that makes gold jewelry that is bonded in the centre with brass and plated with gold. She says that it’s a popular type of jewelry that Belizeans like, particularly because they cost half the price of full gold jewelry. For that reason, protecting the patent is important.

“My sister is the owner. She’s the one that does all the jewelry. It’s a name that she has always liked ever since growing up, so she just decided to name her business. Jenari.”

“Tell us about the jewelry.”

“It’s made from 14 Karat Gold filled, which is different from gold-plated because goal plated, the gold is on the outside. Filled the base is brass, and they pressure bond the gold on top of the brass, so the fill is on the inside. It’s not a hundred percent gold, it’s just 50% gold. So it’s like a cheaper alternative to real gold, and it lasts just as long as real gold. And the color doesn’t change because, not change.”
