Brads Boledo License is Officially Cancelled
The lucrative contract to administer the nightly Boledo, as well as the Sunday Lottery Draw, has been cancelled. The termination of that agreement which was granted to Brads Gaming Group Limited by the previous government came into force today with the suspension of all related activities, including the sale of tickets. In a press release issued by the company earlier today, B.G.G.L. said, “Brads was licensed to manage the government lotteries after an open and transparent tendering process auctioned because of the previous extreme loss of revenue to the government. Not once has any government complained about the revenue stream received which was over four million dollars per year, plus profit sharing. The financial performance of the company has been audited annually by public accounting firm Baker Tilly Hulse and those audited financials are in turn submitted to the Government of Belize, so any talk of the company not being transparent with its finances is inaccurate”. While Brads has indicated that it will not go to court to get back its license, the company will pursue other remedies it may be entitled to. Meanwhile, the Briceño administration has suspended the nightly Boledo and Sunday Lottery Draw indefinitely.
