Youth charged in connection with murder last October
It’s been nearly seven months since the incident shocked residents of the Yarborough area of Belize City, but the long arm of the law has finally caught up with another young man in connection with the stabbing death of a Stann Creek Valley farmer. Twenty two year old Kelvin Reneau was arrested and charged on Wednesday with murder and conspiracy to murder Ernest Rhaburn on the morning of October ninth last year. This latest arrest brings to three the number of people now behind bars awaiting trial for Rhaburn’s murder. The other two, Billy Sanchez and Daryl Mayen were arrested shortly after the incident. Viewers will recall that Rhaburn had traveled to Belize City that fateful morning to sell oranges. Several hours after his arrival though, a fight broke out in front of Rhaburn’s relatives home on Caesar Ridge Road when one of the three accused men reportedly made off with an orange from the back of his pick up truck. C.I.B. officers say their investigation of the incident reveals that Reneau was the one who held Rhaburn while Sanchez inflicted the fatal stab wound.
