Community projects get financial aid
Three community projects administered by the Belize Enterprise for Sustainable Technology BEST, are the recipients of some much needed assistance from the Canada Fund. Seventy seven thousand two hundred and ninety six dollars have been approved for disbursement to the Blackman Eddy Women’s Group in Cayo, the San Felipe Small Business Group in Orange Walk and the Morning Star 4-H group of San Jose Village in the Toledo District. According to BEST, two of the groups will be involved in pig rearing projects while the third will start up a rice hulling operation. An important component of the grant assistance, is that the groups be self-reliant and be able to uplift their standards of living through the projects.
