Allen Felix is Acquitted of Killing Sunset Park Businessman
Forty-five-year-old Allen Felix is one of two men acquitted of murder today for separate incidents they were suspected of committing. Felix was on remand for the 2018 murder of businessman Mario Guerrero, who was bludgeoned to death with a barstool inside his home at Sunset Park. This afternoon, Felix appeared before Justice Ricardo O’Neil Sandcroft who ruled that the Crown did not prove the guilt of the accused beyond a reasonable doubt. It is reported that three video clips showing the last five hours of Guerrero’s life were pieced together as evidence. However, a copy of the DVD containing the footage was ruled inadmissible in trial when the Crown failed to prove that the chain of custody for the digital video disc was not broken. Inside the courtroom, Justice Sandcroft said, “I am not satisfied that the prosecution proved the case beyond a reasonable doubt, so I am acquitting you of murder. You are free to go.” Wasting no time, Felix, who had been on pretrial detention since 2018 dashed through the doors of the courtroom and into Battlefield Park, letting out a loud roar.
