Anti-drug operation in Orange Walk nabs one
Orange Walk police have detained one man pending charges in connection with the discovery of drugs, a firearm and ammunition. A joint police-B.D.F. anti-drug operation on Thursday resulted in the discovery of five marijuana plantations near the Rhaburn Revenge Lagoon area of the Orange Walk District. The plantations contained a combined total of over five thousand mature marijuana plants which were all uprooted and destroyed by fire. Further searches in the area led to the discovery of an A.R. 15 riffle and 8 rounds of ammunition. Police have detained twenty four year old Felix Santos of Orange Walk Town pending charges of possession of prohibited firearm and ammunition, drug trafficking and the cultivation of controlled drugs.
