EU Delegation Visits Adjacency Zone
Earlier today, E.U. Ambassador Marianne Van Steen led a delegation of diplomatic representatives to the western border where they visited the Adjacency Zone between Belize and Guatemala. The European Union has been providing financial support to the Organization of American States since 2012, to carry out a special international mandate. A new agreement between both organizations, for a period of eighteen months was signed recently to implement conflict resolution and preventive diplomacy activities. Joining the E.U. Ambassador on the brief visit were diplomats from Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands and Spain. The European Union upholds a peaceful resolution of the Belize-Guatemala Territorial Differendum to help the economies, trade and cooperation in both countries.
