St. Thomas Street to be paved

Motorists who travel the Kings Park area of Belize City and use St. Thomas Street will tell you that the condition of that road literally takes the joy out of driving. But it won’t be for much longer as Government has announced improvements that will benefit not only drivers but residents as well. On Tuesday in Belmopan, a contract for eight hundred and seventy three thousand dollars was signed between the Ministry of Works and CISCO Construction of Belize City. According to a Government press release, work on paving the street, which has already been widened by the infrastructure project, will begin immediately and is expected to be completed by August of this year. Signing on behalf of the ministry was Permanent Secretary Gerald Henry and Chief Engineer Pedro Carillo, while John Woods and Philip Penner signed on behalf of CISCO.
