8 injured in Hummingbird crash

In a similar accident on Sunday afternoon on the Hummingbird Highway no less than eight of twelve occupants of a pickup truck were injured when a blowout sent their vehicle overturning and off the road. The driver of the 1997 Ford pickup was Pastor Luis Alberto Larrias of San Ignacio. The accident occurred while Larrias was traveling north down a hill between miles twenty eight and twenty nine. The injured passengers, receiving serious wounds to the face and head, were all family members ranging in age from sixteen to a baby less than two years old. All were taken to Belmopan Hospital while twelve year old Luisa Larrias was later transferred to Karl Heusner Memorial in an unconscious state.
