FECTAB Executives Want No Part of Definitive Agreement
While the Prime Minister trashed the original version of the Definitive Agreement for all to see, the Federation of Cruise Tourism Association of Belize held a press conference simultaneously on the same agreement and its condemnation of the document. FECTAB objected to any part of the agreement being passed and today they criticized the government for not wholly trashing the document from the onset when they discovered its existence. Executive member, Yhony Rosado explained that the government had all right from day one not to honour the document based on legal comments made in that regard. And, after they were informed that the PM had trashed the document, FECTAB’s President, David Almendarez said he hoped that action meant that the government was cancelling the entire contents of the agreement.

“The biggest lawyers of this country have said that it is not a legal document now. No. We say you know that the legal minds have said it already on record.”
