Businessman Robbed and Shot in Silk Grass
A businessman was shot during a robbery in Silk Grass Village, Stann Creek on Saturday and his common-law wife was robbed of cash. Andriel Chan reported to police that he thought the four men who showed up in a car wanted to buy fuel, but then he saw a gun and decided to run. The man with the gun fired and struck Chan. “On Saturday, the seventeenth day of June, 2023, around 9:05 p.m., Andriel Chan visited The Silk Grass Police Station where he reported that he was at home when four male persons arrived in a car and order $30 worth of gas. He mentioned that he went to get the gas, but then noticed that one of them was armed with a firearm. He then ran off to avoid anything happening to him, at which point one of the persons chased him and fired shots at him, which caught him on his hand. Thereafter the other three male persons remained there, where they entered the house where they robbed the common-law of the complainant. She was robbed of some cash and jewelry, after which the four male persons made their escape in the car.”
